Prostate Extract (GMP)
BIOFAC Prostate Extract is a natural peptide bio-regulator manufactured at GMP-certified site in Denmark.
BIOFAC Prostate Extract: origin and mechanism of action.
BIOFAC Prostate Extract is a complex of natural bioactive low molecular prostate peptides derived from prostate tissue of bulls by means of special enzymatic hydrolysis process developed by BIOFAC. Bovine Prostate Extract has an organotypic bio-regulator action on the prostate gland.
Pharmacological action
BIOFAC Bovine Prostate Extract action is based on the concept of endogenous peptides bio-regulators. As all bio-regulators, natural low molecular prostate peptides are regarded for their ability to promote arterial circulation. The prostate extract has an organ-tropic action in relation to the prostate gland, stimulating microcirculation in the prostate gland and enhancing tissue proliferation and regeneration.
As a component in the combined treatment it helps to reduce edema in prostatic inflammation and normalize the parameters of the prostate gland and semen, as well as the erectile function.
Therapeutic application
BIOFAC Prostate Extract finds its application in drugs and food supplements aimed to reduce pain and discomfort, and eliminate dysuria phenomena, as well as improve copulative function, in particular under following conditions:
• Chronic nonbacterial prostatitis.
• Prevention of exacerbations of chronic non-bacterial prostatitis.
• Benign prostatic hyperplasia.
• Status before and after surgery on the prostate gland.
• Erectile dysfunction and decreased libido
Storage and stability
BIOFAC Prostate Extract should be stored in original heat-sealed aluminum bags at room temperature (not exceeding 25°C). The product is a hygroscopic powder that easily absorbs humidity from the air. Expiry date is two years from the date of production, if stored as advised above.
Grades for application in different finished dosage forms
BIOFAC offers different grades of Prostate Extract, in particular oral grade and a grade for application in rectal suppositories, as well as special low molecular prepared for injectable grade.
