In the field of Microbiology Diagnostics Technical products BIOFAC offers following products

Proteins tend to stick non-specifically to most surfaces. This is due to its natural charge and hydrophilicity/ hydrophobicity. Working with antibodies, minimizing the non-specific binding is crucial to avoid a high level of noise in a variety of laboratory analyses. In order to do this, a large amount of non-reactive protein such as BSA is added to samples to coat non-specific protein binding sites.
Peptone is a protein derivative that is formed by the partial hydrolysis of proteins under acidic conditions. It is not coagulated by heat and is soluble in water.
Peptone contains polypeptides and amino acids and it provides a readily available source of nitrogen and minerals for the growth of bacteria.
Application of BIOFAC Pepsin in digestive formulations is based on the ability of pepsin to denaturize proteins in the food and hereby to facilitate digestion.
BIOFAC Pepsin has found its application in formulations indicated for irritable colon and dyspeptic disorders, such as belching, bloating, postprandial fullness, epigastria and abdominal pain
BIOFAC supplies a pharmaceutical grade of the GMP-certified and virus validated Pepsin.
We offer either pure Plasmin or a mixture of Plasmin with Deoxyribonuclease (DNase), called Bionuclease. Bionuclease works as a debriding agent, removing foreign material and dead tissue from the wound in order to prevent infection and promote healing.
Bionuclease is used in ointments for topical application to promote healing of wounds, in particular chronic wounds and wounds with pre-existing physiological condition, e.g. diabetic foot ulcers, general surgical wounds, burns, ulcerative lesions-trophic, abscesses, etc. The application of ointments with Bionuclease for vaginal use is indicated for mild to moderate infections.
Thrombin has a number of well-studied biological activities, which serve to achieve coagulation and hemostasis.
BIOFAC Thrombin has found its application in a variety of trauma dressing products, as hemostatic pads and thrombin hemostat in a foam gel form. Furthermore, it can be used in a thrombin solution to be applied in various types of surgery.
